Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner did some things really well, especially when it came to longevity and demon fusing. The training can still become repetitive when trying to grow stronger. But the variety of demons and the fusion options really add extra depth to the game. The music was lame but the sound was bearably good and the story, while a bit slow at first, started pulling it together just past the half-way mark. If you’re an RPG fan looking for something slightly different than the rest of the herd then Megami Tensei is worth a rental. If you’re not into Role-playing games, this game won’t change your mind about them.
Sweet to the Core
Demon fusing. Fusing demons kicked butt
40+ hours of gameplay. At least this game won't get boring fast
Going Bad
Too many character names. All the names made it difficult to find stuff
Campy themes. The game needed to be a bit more serious
Rotten to the Core
Bad resolution. The characters were very digitized
No voices. Where were the voice overs?
Dated gameplay. Walking around is very 1990'ish
Lame music. The music is very cheesy
